The 9 Books Casey is Lovin'.
Hiiiii! My name is Casey and you usually can find me with noise canceling headphones on, a book in hand & repping some slut strand gear over in Portland, OR. I was born & raised in the south and proud of it - but that does mean I am learning how to snowboard and surf in my twenties. I am so thankful for the SSS community because it has helped me gain the courage to try something new no matter how intimidating it may seem at first.
Reading has been an escape for me since I was little - a way for me to enter in a new world for a day or change my perspective on my current experience. These books are some old and new favorites and all chosen for a reason. I hope you find one you love just as much as I do! P.s. for all my fellow atlanta lovers - enjoy this Gucci Mane read 💋
“Emma” by Jane Austen — for the girls that just love gossip & a woman who (technically) doesn’t need a man.
“All About Love” by belle hooks - a non-fiction read that will lift your soul & may make you cry
“Bridget Jones Diary” by Helens Fielding — who doesn’t love a rom-com? This book will make you laugh and want to hug Bridget Jones. Fun & indulging - not to mention you get to watch the A+ movies after.
“Outlawed” by Anna north — badass women outlaws. What else is there to say?
“Writers & lovers” by Lily King — we are all trying to figure our sh*t out and Lily King gets that. Grief, joy, romance, and writing - this book has all the emotions for you.
“Aristotle & Dante Discover the Universe” by Benjamin Alire Sáenz— Young adult books are NOT overrated! Say it with me! This one is just too cute & you won’t want to put it down. There is a reason why it has won so many awards.
“The autobiography of Gucci Mane” by Gucci Mane and Neil Martinez-Belkin — okay this has nothing to do with valentines day, but who doesn’t love Gucci mane?
“Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen - this one needs no explanation, but you do need to read this multiple times in your lifetime.
“Song of Achilles” by Madeline Miller — bookstagram and book tok got something right on this one. Be aware: this book will make you shed multiple tears and end with you hugging it.
