Cici Oliver: Why I Slut Strand

Hello all ! My name is CiCi Oliver. I am 20 years old, and hail from a small town right outside of Omaha, Nebraska. Though Omaha was very charming, it was also very flat, so 2 years ago I moved out to the mountains of Utah in order to pursue a career as a fly fishing guide . I currently attend Utah State University where I study fisheries and watershed sciences, and I spend my free time chasing trout all around the PNW. There are a lot of cool girls out there that do a lot of cool things, and I think that should be embraced, not tucked underneath a hat. That’s why I Slut Strand. I Slut Strand because it makes me feel pretty. I Slut Strand because it makes me feel powerful. I Slut Strand because it makes me feel so dang proud to be a part of a community of such bad ass women. Most of all, I Slut Strand because in a world where outdoor recreation can often be seen as a boys club, it’s exceptionally rad that among that boys club, there is a Slut Strand Society. And we all get to be a part of that. And that’s damn cool. Let’s hear it for the girls ammi right.
