LAURA OBERMEYER: WHY I SLUT STRAND

Howdy, I’m Laura. I live in the mountains and do art stuff.
You can creep my page if you want to know more about me in that regard, but I am asked to use this post to talk about Why I Slut Strand.
I don’t often think about pulling my hair out of my hood and creating slut strands. They are a natural occurrence that have always lacked purpose for me. But when a community arises from a common trend amongst our river, back country, and chairlift selfies, I am all about it. It has proved to be a phenonemon based on something far greater than vanity, and that’s really f*#!ing cool. It’s easy to find ways to feel made fun of for just about anything, so you might as well do what you want. If it’s a swipe of mascara before going fishing or a pair of cat eye sunnies during park laps, do what makes YOU feel good and enjoy living your life.

So while I don’t tend to put thought into achieving the perfect strands, I do firmly believe in the art of keeping things fun, weird, and uproarous whenever the opportunity presents itself, which happens to be the case in skiing, always. So cheers to the strange and the wild, and cheers to the girls. Hit me up if y’all wanna go skiing or bowling or something
